KAFD Modular Heliport Installation
In January 2025 Unified Aviation were engaged to provide a Modular Environmentally Sustainable Hybrid (MESH) landing platform at the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD).
The project involved the complete end-to-end solution from concept alignment, structural analysis, project planning, production, transportation, installation and commissioning.
Unified Aviation were also engaged to support all the GACA certification requirements.
Project Objectives
Primary Goal: Confirm that a MESH landing system is suitable for the 1.06 Carpark building and work with appointed contractor to achieve this.
Secondary Goal: Produce, supply and install a MESH Landing Platform at KAFD 1.06 Carpark that meets all GACA requirements and can be used by helicopters upto AW139 size and future-proofed for eVTOL Advanced Air Mobility operations.

Our Solution
The MESH Landing Platform is the ultimate solution in heliport and vertiport platforms. It is modular and can be fitted on buildings, on the ground and as a floating platform, using proprietary modular floatation system.
Challenges

Engineering validation of the buidling support structure for the support of MESH.
Aligning the location to ensure that the aviation regulatory and safety parameters were met.
Secondary Challenge: Deliver and install a state-of-the-art MESH landing system
